Back up the Anderton Lift and onward
Valeroyal Cut to Billinge Green Flash, River Weaver and Trent & Mersey Canal, 10 miles 2 locks
Just a quick blog tonight for you just to say that we have come up from the River Weaver after our wonderful mooring over the weekend at Valeroyal Cut, and after collecting some bits and bobs from Mr Tesco and filling with water at Anderton we decided to cruise on very late in the day as it was just such a beautiful evening, not putting the pins in ‘till after 7pm.
A couple of pictures from Northwich as we passed through this morning..

This is another of the wonderful swing bridges along the Weaver, and this is a very interesting place by the river in Northwich..

This is the boarded up Quality Inn.. how lovely to have a room right on the edge of the river.. but not any more, I must find out why this looks so deserted.
Once back up on the Trent & Mersey Canal after travelling up the lift our cruise took us through the industrial part of Northwich as we double back on ourselves heading south..

I certainly enjoyed this town more on the river, although we did not stop today to visit the town, the weather was far too good!
We have settled this evening by one of the ‘flashes’ on this canal.. similar to the wide open space known as Tixall Wide. It is very quiet here and when I took Lucy and Meg out this evening late it was obvious that it was a bit remote from casual walkers. The towpath was alive with wild flowers, absolutely beautiful..
It is interesting that although we have cruised 10 miles today, we are only 2 and half miles as the crow flies from where we were moored over the weekend!
Right then, I better post this or it will be tomorrow!!
.. Oh by the way, I have added the ‘My Tesco Deliveries’ to the left hand links column again.. there are more files to add, and as soon as I have re-written them I will upload them.. my website was hacked some time ago, and all my html files were altered.
