Windy around Thrapston and my Dad arrives
Denford to Wadenhoe, River Nene, 5.75 miles 3 locks
Just a quicky blog tonight.. Moving on from Denford we could not get onto the town moorings at Thrapston, well I say could not, what I really mean is I didn’t try..the wind was high and it is very difficult at the best of times to turn directly left round a hairpin very close to the packet bridge at Thrapston to get to the mooring, so I continued under the bridge, through the lock and found the moorings by the Yachting club empty.
It was Sunday.. the yachting club was alive with people racing.. and it turned out to be quite a spectacle with yachts capsizing all over the place, the wind was just too high. There were plenty of rescue boats out on the lake, and they sure were busy!
I went to Peterborough this morning to meet my Dad and step mum Sylvia from the train, they are staying for a few days with us, and today we moved from those moorings to Wadenhoe..

A dank day again on the river at Titchmarsh, and the mill itself is looking a bit worse for wear than we have seen in other years, I do hope they look after it and not let it go into ruin..
The lock hasn’t changed though, it’s wild in there while waiting for the lock to empty…

Ropes needed to hold No Problem off the bottom guillotine gate!
We were lucky to find the last mooring outside the Kings Head Pub, a popular mooring before enjoying a lovely dinner before Dad and Sylvia left for a more comfortable bed at a local B&B. We will see them in the morning when we will continue downstream… in the rain I think!

Updated 11th October!
